HOW TO READ AND REPORT USING BTC SIGIL NOTATION

as all angels know, BTC SIGIL is a helpful acronym to remember all the parts of a BTC SIGIL report. these reports are crucial for understanding The Stream, deciphering THREATS, and giving our allies appropriate information. the BTC SIGIL Report Notation (BSRN) is a standardized system, crafted for consistency and clarity in Signal reporting.

BTC SIGIL stands for:

  • Broadcast
  • Threat
  • Callsign
  • Signal
  • Identity
  • Guild
  • Interlopers
  • Legacy

here is a blank Signal report:

*please note, not all messages will contain every piece of information, sometimes, like when communicating on an archaic broadcast Signal, data is corrupted on its passage through The Stream.

here is an explanation of what each line of the Signal report means:

[BROADCAST] SIGNAL: covered in SIGNALS.
[THREAT] LEVEL: covered in THREATS.
[CALLSIGN] IDENTITY: beings that use the broadcast system are generally amorphous, constantly shifting from one recognizable identity to the next. some are able to be tied together by a callsign while others slip through the cracks, or remain undetected, and we are unaware of their aliases.
[GUILD]:the origin and affiliation of the entity that is transmitting the Signal.
[INTERLOPERS]: covered in INTERLOPERS.
[LEGACY]: relevant background information or context to understand the message. can include the nature of the BROADCAST SIGNAL, any events that led to the transmission, or specific instructions that must be followed to interpret the message correctly. supplied by whoever creates the BTC SIGIL report. fallible.
[MESSAGE]: the message from the CALLSIGN that was received from the BROADCAST SIGNAL.

[LEGACY]: THE ANGEL OF CHANCE, DIVINELY APPOINTED BROADCAST SIGNAL 777. HER MESSAGES ARE TO BE TREATED AS DIVINATION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.
